Cowboy Bag

I recently made this cowboy bag. At the fabric store I was obsessed with this fabric.
I guess I just have a (slight) obsession for western inspired things. I'm also in love with these earring I just bought, and my cowboy boots. Both are vintage finds.

I decided to make a bag with the fabric (because its probably the one cowboyish accessory I don't have, haha). I used some other western inspired ideas in the design and used a faux leather strip as a trim and as the strap. I tried my best to have a photo shoot but next time I definitely need a model!

...though my dog Koko did look rather cute with it!

I have some extra material so I am planning on making another bag with it. I'm happy with how this one turned out but I think I'll do a couple things different next time.

Water Ballet

For the past month I have been slaving away on costumes for the water ballet show at my pool. This was my first year coaching water ballet, and I took on the costume part (of course anything to be creative!). I had to make 36 costumes and it was soooo much work but sooo rewarding and fun:) Luckily we ordered the leotards (from Discount Dance Supply, http://www.discountdance.com) they were all super cute and fit nicely. The theme was grease so I knew I at least wanted one group to have poodle skirts I designed, decorated, and ended up make 25 skirts for the production, along with accessories( I even made hair scrunches). The show went off perfectly, minus a few technical difficulties (my mom should never be in charge of sound!). The girls all seemed to love their costumes and they looked super cute in them.

"Its Raining on Prom Night"
"Tears on my Pillow"
"Rock 'N' Roll is Here to Stay"
"Rock 'n' Roll Party Queen"
These girls were our youngest water balleters (water ballety's, o's ???). They were soo cute but too small for a routine in the deep end so they did a special routine in the shallow end. Sooo cute!!!!
"Houndog"

"You're the One that I Want"

"Freddy My Love"
Overall such a great show! It took so much time now that it's done I'm not quite sure what to do with myself haha!

Hello! Welcome to my blog:)

Hi I'm j. For a while now I have been meaning to start a blog about my fashion related enterprises. Blogging seems a unique way to share what I am doing. I love fashion, sewing, art, basically anything that allows me to be creative. I hope to share tutorials, what I have made, my day to day life, and many other things on this blog. It really is a mix of things.
